Erie is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Erie is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

First time here and we were super impressed. Our server Max was attentive and friendly - honestly he was great. I had the Bennington Benedict and it was amazing, with maple sausage and crispy bacon. My wife had the New England omelette and loved it. Both came with the smash brown potatoes which were delicious. Highly recommended.

Waitresses were on point.. even tho the house was packed we had a 25 minute wait for food. We expected that when a small kitchen is putting this much food out.. Food was warm still and tasted awesome.. For how busy they were I was in awe to see the women bussing tables run after a patron that left there childβs sippy cup on a table.. every lady in house was respectful held smiles on there face even if the were over whelmedβ¦ My 2nd time here will definitely be back..

Liked the creativity with the eggs Benedict on the features menu when we went Saturday late morning after pickleball. Service was friendly and prompt without being hovering. 2 of the 3 in our party are taking leftovers with us so, plenty to eat. Consistently good. π

Gem City Diner is such a cozy, feel-good breakfast spot. The service is super friendly, and the menu has a great mix of classic dishes and fun, creative combos. I tried the Western omelet and the Gem city omelet which had blackberry jam, burnt ham and brie omelet, and wow, I didnβt know I needed that in my life. Our server also recommended the special waffle with marmalade and champagne whipped cream, which quickly became my favorite (minus the champagne part π). Had a great time here and will definitely be back soon.

Though this isn't the classic and nostalgic diner (or dinor in these parts) in construction- Gem City delivers on the enjoyable and filling dining experience that earns the name. My family went for brunch on a Tuesday morning before heading gome home after a few days away in Erie, and we got a meal that made for a pleasant drive home. The restaurant is pleasantly and tastefully designed with a New American flair, and seemed very clean. They were quite busy even at the kind of awkward weekday time we visited, so service was a bit slow, but it was pleasant all the same. My wife, my father and myself were all intrigued by and ordered the Gem City Omelet, which had burnt ham, blackberry jam and Wisconsin Brie. It was a unique and delicious omelet, and the "Smashbrowns" were also done well. My mother and my kids all got French Toast and Pancakes, and were happy with their selections as well. Overall, this is a nice place for breakfast if in the Erie/Presque Isle area, and I may have to try my hand sometime at making their namesake omelet, since it was that unique and enjoyable.
